The story of the Raven pendant.

Recently I have inherited a sort of family air loom. There are a number of stories attached to it. Which makes having it in my possession all the sweeter.

Story 1:

My auntie Amy gave my uncle Evens a gold raven pendant necklace it was beautiful, she also had a few other pieces one was a sterling silver necklace, raven as well. A timex watch and a circular Raven pendant. I asked if she wanted me to clean/polish them, I had my silver cloth with me, as I bring it with me when I travel. So I cleaned them all and was finishing up the last Raven pendant and asked where she got it from. She said that Uncle Bob had given it to her late husband, my uncle Andy one night, right off his necklace. Uncle Andy passed away in 2008 and the pendant remained tucked away until this day. Amy said she was going to give it back to uncle Bob. I said ‘Hey is there any way that I may have it, I will pay for it!’ She said ‘she would ask him next time she saw him’. I decided to leave a little note with the pendant so that uncle Bob would see it.
Story 2:

The next day mom and I went on a day trip up to Prince Rupert. We usually do whenever we are up this way. Secondly my mom had made a promise to go up when we were in Terrace. So we got up at a decent hour and headed out for the day. It was a great day, a busy one but a good one. Mom and I arrived back in Terrace just before dusk. Unfortunately Auntie Amy was not home when we got there. So we called her cell, she was at Chances Casino, big surprise it was a Friday night and that’s jus what people do out here. So we head on down to the casino, may I add that this was the second time that I had been in Chances that day! Everyone was there, Bob & Sharron, Amy & Coltz, Leanne, mom and me. I spotted Uncle Bob & Auntie Sharron and them in the lounge area, so I went to go sit with them. I all of a sudden felt very hungry, only like 10 minutes before we got back into town mom and I went to Tim’s to get food only to not get what we/mom wanted, as they did not have any more Lasagna casserole. I ended up ordering chicken strips and Caesar salad. On a side note I have been having a crazy craving and have been eating it pretty much every day! No word of a lie. So Uncle Bob gave me a hug, and said he got my note and that I could have it!! OMG I was so happy I made a huge spectacle of it and could not thank him enough. I reassured him that I would take excellent care of it and that I would cherish it always. So that concludes on side of the story, onto the next one.

Story 3:

When everyone was done at the casino we all went back to Auntie Amy’s it was around 11:30pm and Auntie Sharron & Uncle Bob we staying the night. Uncle Bob said there is a story of how he came to have the pendant and it goes a little something like this:

A good friend of Uncle Bobs had owed him $50 and as payment he made this pendant and gave it to Uncle Bob. If you inspect the backing of the pendant it reads ‘$50 Bob Morven’.

Well this about concludes the different stories behind The Raven Pendant. I will be attaching a picture of the pendant itself. I hope you enjoyed this story as much as I have enjoyed telling it. Have a wonderful day, stay tuned for more posts.
