IT HAPPENED ONE NIGHT

One of the most memorable romance comedies released by Columbia Pictures in 1934. Directed by Frank Capra, staring Claudette Colbert & Clark Gable.

It is the first movie to do the “Oscar” grand slam winning: Best Picture, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Director & Best Screenplay. This kind of acclaim would not be earned again until the film One Flew over the Cuckoo’s Nest (1976), directed by Milos Forman. In addition, Silence of the Lambs (1991) would also earn this special distinction.

In 1993 the Library of Congress said this movie is considered “culturally historically” and significant. It Happened One Night was abducted into the United States National Film Registry for preservation.

I will be screening this movie on Monday in my film class I am super excited. Think I may bring some popcorn. Well that’s it for now, stay tuned, thanks for stopping by.
