MOVIE REVIEW: Marvel's The Avengers: An IMAX 3D experience

I went to go see The Avengers last night at SilverCity River Port in Richmond. Saw it in IMAX 3D! It is the only way to watch movies. The last movie I saw in IMAX was Mission Impossible: Ghost protocol on Dec.28.2011 which is my birthday.

I don’t even know where to begin, this movie is what watching movies are all about. I have always loved movies that have been based on comic books. It just seems like the ultimate for of escapism. Movies take you somewhere; they take you places you have never been.

The Avengers has a die hard cast, Robert Downey Jr. plays Tony Stark/Iron Man, I think he has made one of thee best comebacks since his days of drinkin and druggin back in 96’ the type of character he often plays are often egotistical likable jerks which I believe is not really a stretch from who he really is, none the less we love him all the same.

Chris Evens plays Steve Rogers/Capitan America, this would not be his first role as a superhero either he also played Johnny Storm-The Torch in Fantastic 4 which is also another Marvel character/role.

Wisconsin native Mark Ruffalo is defiantly new to the Marvel comic realm. His role as Bruce Banner/The Hulk was fantastic. He has been in some remarkable movies such as Shutter Island & the Zodiac.

Moving onto Chris Hemsworth Australian native who plays Thor God of Thunder (of Norse mythology) his character is multidimensional, he is extremely powerful, has profound stamina, he can track objects traveling faster than the speed of light, can travel through time, I mean the list can go on and on. Chris also has a younger brother (in-law) Luke who dabbles in acting. When Chris premiered as Thor (2011) I absolutely fell in love with the character/actor. I mean many actors who come from Australia have a certain quality that you just cant find anywhere else. Look at Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman. Hugh who plays Logan/Wolverine yet another Marvel comic character brought to life. When I look at the kind of caliber of actor's that come from Australia, its incredible. They just dont make them like that here, whether that be Canada or the USA or any other part of the world.

Scarlett Johansson who portrays Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow. The Black Widows abilities include: Marksman, weapons specialist, extensive espionage training, martial artist (styles included but not limited to: Judo, Karate, Aikido, savate, kung fu and boxing) She can defiantly hold her own to say the least.

Samuel L Jackson who plays Nick Fury, he is one of my all time favorite actors, his role as Jules in Pulp Fiction a Tarantino movie also my favorite Writer/Director was mind blowing.

As far as other cast members there is a slough, Gwyneth Paltrow/Pepper Potts, Jeremy Renner-Clinton Barton/Hawkeye, Tom Hiddleston/Loki, Clark Gregg/Agent Phil Coulson, Stellan Skarsgard/Professor Erik Selvig & Paul Bettany the voice of Jarvis.

In conclusion, I thought this movie was hmm there really is not one word that can describe it. Sensory overload but in a good way, adrenaline pumping, and action riddled, stunning graphics. I would say it is awesome, stellar but that would be an understatement. I would defiantly recommend that you go to the IMAX Theater right now and watch it over and over again. Its been a killer in the box office earning Billions of dollars, if you don’t go and see it you are missing out big time. Well thanks for stopping by have a good May long weekend ya’ll till next time
